$BEYOND Token White Paper

TL;DR

We're launching a $BEYOND utility token, which community members can use for lots of cool stuff, including getting special members access in Discord, paying for premium subscription and more.

A few words about Beyond

Beyond is a community management platform that solves problems using web3 technology. Community is in our DNA and drives everything we do.

Our mission is to empower people to create modern communities, and we work on this mission alongside our community of community-builders. We believe that solving problems for our users, with our users creates the best possible outcome for everyone.

We are launching a token

We are launching the $BEYOND token into the wild! It will be used to establish an economy and an incentive structure within our community, and with our product.

Why are we launching it? Our motivation

We want to build more than just a product, and more than just a community. We build a partnership with our community members and users, so that we're all helping each other create something great in the world.

Using the token we want to align incentives as much as we can. By enabling our users to become community owners, then we're all working toward the same goal. By creating a token that has real value, that can be used freely within our community between members, we hope to drive more value transfer within the group.

We have designed the token so that there are a number of functions, all of which are intended to create value and a better experience for our users and our community members. They are also designed to incentivise positive behaviour that benefits not just Beyond, but also the community.

How could this work? Show me examples

Example Scenario 1: Community members get a free or discounted Beyond premium subscription by helping others in the community.
Members can be tipped tokens by doing things that help and support others in the community, and the tokens can be used to pay for a Beyond premium account.

The incentive we want to create is for members to help others in the community succeed.

Example Scenario 2: Community members earn money by supporting community efforts and projects.
Members can contribute to community projects and be rewarded with tokens, which can then be sold on a secondary market for money.
One example of a potential community project would be to produce some educational content that helps new people getting into the web3 space.

The incentive we want to create is for members to contribute to projects that have the goal of helping community builders succeed.

Example Scenario 3: Community members can thank other members with a tip
Tokens can be a mechanism for thanking other members of the community to show appreciation. Maybe someone helped you with setting up your community, or helped you to understand a complex topic. You could share a few tokens with the other person as a sign of appreciation.

The incentive we want to create is for people to come to the Beyond community to discuss community-building and work on challenges together.

About the token

The $BEYOND token is a utility token, meaning it is not a security backed asset. The token can be used for a number of cases (detailed above) but it does not represent a share of the Beyond company, the right to own a share of Beyond, nor is it backed by the value of the Beyond company.

FAQ

Is this an ICO?

No, typically ICOs are used to raise funds for a project, as a rough IPO analogue. They are generally intended as an investment instrument, despite usually not being legally backed by an asset. This is contrasted with a security token offering (STO) for tokenised securities, which is built to represent real shares of an incorporated company.

While we may sell a limited amount of $BEYOND tokens from time to time, our token is intended for a much wider utility purpose, and is not designed as an investment vehicle.
